This term we have successfully moved our swimming classes from the classroom to the water!!

Swimming is a part of the curriculum, but schools rarely have access to pools or water. So its taught through books and videos:

This is how you learn how to swim from books.

Everyone knows thats not how you learn to swim!! So we threw a fundraiser this Christmas to try and introduce swiming to our grade 4-6 and we cant say anything other than; SUCCESS!!!

We have gone to Tezo on Saturdays, where there is a swimming pool, spent hours and hours in the pool, learning the basics and building confidence in the water.

Our swimming coach is no other than Mike Akida - our former Taekwondo coach, who introduced Taekwondo to us 4 years ago!

Mike has done a great job in taking our students from being unsure, always hanging on to edge and being scared to jumping, swimming and having fun in the water (see video at the end of the page)

This was possible all thanks to our wonderful sponsors, who supported our Christmas fundraiser, we are very much hoping to be able to do the same next year! A huge thanks to everyone who contributed <3

Were gonna let the pictures and video speak for itself.

From being scared to enter the water, to jump in, enjoy and be free like this <3
